The Quick Facts:
* Return from Doubtful Sound did not occur until ~4PM, so very much a travel day
* Zip Lined through the hills of Queenstown (this is the perfect “wimp out” alternative to bungy jumping)
* Zip Lined through the hills of Queenstown (this is the perfect “wimp out” alternative to bungy jumping)
The Good:
* Zip-lining is fun!
The Bad:
* Can’t think of anything right now
Well, one drawback of going out to such a remote destination as Doubtful Sound is the time it takes to get back to civilization! But, we managed to do so and then signed up to go zip-lining in the trees above Queenstown. The operator, ZipTrek Ecotours, did a very nice job. It’s the only zip-lining option in Queenstown, but I still enjoyed it. They offer 4 or 6 zip line packages, we chose the 6 and were happy we did – the last 2 are the best!
You have to take a gondola to the top of the mountain above Queenstown, where basically all adventure-related activity takes place (bungy jumping, mountain biking, paragliding, etc).
Here’s the view from the top…
And here’s an action shot of Andy zip-lining (this is the only one I have, it’s tough to get photos of this as you might imagine).
